Lesson plan of all types are useful for every beginner teachers whether it'd be prepared for high level or low level. And the lesson plans are usefull for experienced teachers too. I am turning on lesson plan of JAMESTOWN SETTLEMENT and took advantage.
Main attraction of the publication is the place introduction THE
OLD DOMINION VIRGINA.
It is the tenth state joining on fifty states union in 1788.
Virginia is 42,800 square miles , 35th in area, but twelfth in
population. It is similar with Switzerland.
George Washington's leading revolutionary war broke against Britain for the independent state of Virginia. Another nick name for Virginia is "MOTHER OF PRESIDENT ". George Washington was elected as the first president of US and ruled from 1789 to 1797. Four of the first five US presidents were Virginians. Thomas Jefferson (1801-1809), James Madison
( 1809-1817 ) and James Monre (1817 - 1825) were Virginians.
Except the four in first five US Presidents, the other four Presidents also were being born by Virginia. They were William Hennery Harrison (1841), John Tyler (1841 - 1845), Zachary Tyler (1849 - 1850) and Woodrow Willson (1913 - 1921).
About 750,000 tourists visit Virginia every year. The Blue Ridge Parkway is among the most visited place. The national park is stretching almost 500 miles from Shenandoah national park to the Great Smoky Mountain in North Caroline along the crest of the Blue Ridgemon mountains. The Great Dismal Swamp is a favorite spot for the bikers, hikers, birders and fishermen. The parkway took more than fifty years to complete since 1930. Many attractive spots are available in
Virginia, such as natural Bridge. Another destination is series of caves in the eastern US. Millions of years old caverns were discovered in 1878. Thomas Jefferson's home, Monticello, near Charlottesville is the most famous. People see and learn Jefferson was a thinker, a writer, an inventes, an architect , a man with complete personal. Another popular estates are Mount Vernon and the beloved home of George Washington, which is located near Alexandria, on the Potamac river.
The historic site, Colonial Williamburg is the best living museums. Right of Colonial era is still attractive crafts, such as barrel making and blacksmithing. People can also learn about the lives of slaves and freed blacks who made up half of the population of Colonial Williamsburg.
